Funding Helps Serve Greater Victoria Priorities

VICTORIA- More money in the hands of local governments will support vital local public safety initiatives and other important community services.

“Since 2004, the province has returned 100 per cent of traffic fine revenue back to communities, who are then able to reinvest those dollars in local public safety initiatives,” says Oak Bay-Gordon Head MLA Ida Chong.

“Whether it be renovations to municipal facilities or purchasing new equipment to ensure safer communities, this money ensures dollars are spent where it’s needed the most,” says Saanich North and the Islands MLA Murray Coell.
